Belinda J. Braley “This was my first experience organizing and hosting this event and I was overwhelmed at the thought of pulling this all together. I book marked the Web site and referred to it daily during planning. It was great to have a comprehensive, well-organized resource at my disposal. I started with the Workplace Coordinator section and utilized the materials, particularly the Activity Guide. We did the “Up/Down” icebreaker. The “What do you Think” activity was amazing in terms of the responses the kids gave. Our event was a huge success and I know this is due in large part to the Web site materials.”

Goldman Sachs - Lilly Maisel
Lilly Maisel “Goldman, Sachs & Co. is proud to be an annual Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day sponsor. The commitment to expanding opportunities for our young people to learn about the workplace of their future is important to our organization. The program helps to set the stage for companies across the U.S. to participate in this event by creating user-friendly programming and training materials and resources. By developing and distributing comprehensive training and participant materials and activities, we are able to help our smaller regional offices organize a successful event around the country without relying on extensive resources to pull off a great event. In addition to the developing curriculum, our organization can leverage to maximize the day’s experience for our children, the organization supports our efforts year round and helps me keep in connection with other participating organizations around the country through forums and best practices sharing sessions.”

KPMG LLP - Barbara Wankoff
Barbara Wankoff "As a firm, we are proud of our participation in TODSTW Day. We believe it's important for children to see where their parents work and what they do. We understand that early exposure to the work environment can positively impact a child's ultimate career aspirations by providing a better appreciation of the elusive concept of "work" through some actual experiences. Plus, our employees really appreciate being able to share their day and work experiences with their daughters and sons.

Our programs are always filled to capacity with kids returning year after year. They've told us that they learn about the working world and KPMG, meet new friends, enjoy the time with their parents and especially the make your own sundaes at lunch!"

Parade Magazine - Lee Kravitz
Parade Magazine - Lee Kravitz "It was an article in PARADE that helped Take Our Daughters To Work Day grow from a local event into a national movement. Twelve years later, TODS and its mission are even more relevant -- and crucial. America competes in a global economy that increasingly recognizes and prizes the vital role that women (as well as men) play in economic growth and progress. TODS gives young people and particularly girls a taste of the workplace. But it also reminds all Americans (parents and policymakers, voters and corporate leaders) that our success as a nation depends on our ability to nurture and help fulfill the dreams and potential of all of our young people."

Katz Media Group - Chickie Bucco "At Katz, we are thoroughly committed to this nationwide movement, which has sparked an incredible explosion within the corporate community, at large. Each year, we create a full day of sessions, where we encourage our children to think about the challenges and issues of balancing work, family, community and personal responsibilities. We take this day seriously–it’s not just a day to get out of school–it’s a way to help young people get a clearer idea of what it’s like to be out in the world and to examine social structures outside of their family."

Pennsylvania State University - Robert Drago
Pennsylvania State University - Robert Drago "When my daughters were younger, I found Take Our Daughters To Work Day invaluable, partly for the positive exposure to the world of work that it provided to my daughters, but also because it strengthened the bonds between us. Today, I believe in Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work more broadly as a way to educate children regarding the world of work, a way to humanize our workplaces, and as a device to teach parents about how work looks from the family side (which is often an eye-opener!). Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work is a great way to open up the workplace to issues of family, to see a side of employees that is often (and unfortunately) hidden, and to educate children, employees and managers as to options around flexibility that we either already have or should have in the future."

Dads and Daughters - Joe Kelly
Dads and Daughters - Joe Kelly "Work-family balance is a central issue for every family member in our society now, and for the foreseeable future. Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work helps stimulate a national conversation about this crucial issue. I became part of the Take Our Daughters To Work Advisory Board because of my lifelong commitment to gender equity. I remained an advisor to the Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work initiative for the same reason, and because I think men (in particular) need to spend more time thinking and discussing work-family balance."

N.Bielot_S.Tadesse_D. Oliveria "This is the third year that we participated in the Take our Daughters And Sons To Work program, and every year sees more children and employee involvement! We highlight one of our products and walk the children through the business process, from Business Development to manufacturing to shipping and invoicing. Several employees are involved (parents wherever possible), explaining what they do for the product and what skills/education are required. The children have a great time seeing their parents/grandparents at work, learning about more than 15 professions and seeing how everyone works together to make a product for the customer."
